But I only loved the upper part I didn't like the tail

Her special surprise is a cake that can't possibly be any worse than the infamous
MERMAID
at least it was supposed to be!!!
(I am actually feeling a bit mortified to even publish this picture)
and I have no idea where her arms are or why I never really noticed she didn't have any
God only gave out so many artistic talents
I for sure was too far back in that line
Sarahs whimsy cake will put mine to shame
(yes, its supposed to look like the leaning tower of Pisa)
No Worries, there will be no "how to" tutorials here

Sam: (while eating zucchin
i bread) mom the best part about this is the bikini huh?

Love it and I would eat a piece, maybe five!

What part of the bread is the bikini? Is it the butt? Because I would agree!

My word verification was focksti....what kind of blog are you running?

I had to check my url and make sure I was reading your blog, not cakewrecks. That's a mighty fine cup cake cake! Maybe a shark ate her arms. Or she has one arm, but it kind of looks like her hair?

All in good fun, my dear. All in good fun.

Hey, I will never show the cakes I've made- just ask Mom about the blue monstrosity I made. Buying them at Walmart works so fine for this cake makers daughter.

I actually like the leaning cake. It looks like it's supposed to do that. I feel so much better. I made a cake for Alex's 6th birthday and it was the last one that I did. He was into Star Wars. It was gross looking. I don't even think I have a picture of it. I am taking the cake decorating class on Saturday.

I almost made that mermaid cake for Ginny's 5th. I'm sure mine would have looked WAY worse. I'll bet that Ellie will grow up and only remember that her made her some really cool cakes. Memories are funny that way. I think your whimsical cake looks cute!!

I actually love the first cake! I think it looks like a mad hatter cake! You are too hard on yourself.

It has never mattered what a cake looks like, just what it tastes like. Ok, just thought of a few exceptions but nevermind.

ps- my word verification was homotope? Is that an isotope that is attracted to both positive and negative ions, or just positive ions? Or what?

I didn't know what kind of blog I was running until chad told me his word verification. The topsy cake really turned out okay but really the Mermaid is ridiculous. I can laugh at myself though and anytime I bring it up my mom and I have a good laugh. Make fun all you want. I will laugh too. Ginger yours would have just looked similar. It has really bad instructions.
Chad have you eaten naked lady cakes? I will google a homotope.
my word veri is packwoo.....lets just leave it at that. Goes along with yours though Chad. Yeah, I shouldn't have written it. I know.

I love how some of the people still didn't get that it was supposed to be lean-y.... it was cute and even better, delicious.

The mermaid speaks for herself... kinda looks like a South Park character.

I just relooked at it and it's still funny/creepy.

K I am loving the whimsy cake! And as for the mermaid cake.. her head is like an orange on a toothpick. So funny. I think Ella is the most spoiled kid around - two cakes for one birthday. Who cares that the mermaid looks creepy... two cakes is two cakes.

Oh to have to be an overachiever mom during birthdays. Its the worst!! And believe you me my cakes are embarrassing to post.
